My drawing 1 kids finished a stippling drawing today. We first worked on turning 2-D shapes into 3-D forms by adding dots. The closer the dots are together, the darker the value, the farther apart, the lighter. We also talked about how the pressure of the dot would affect the value. After we did our practice, I gave them the option of three different still lifes. They had to draw it with pencil and then start their stippling with sharpie. When they were all finished and their hands were cramping from all the repitition, they could erase their lines and see if they created a line with their dots separating the forms from the background.
